This short composition is an etude in "phase swapping." Using my MATLAB SSUM program sndanalsynth, I resynthesized a Bulgarian choir using phase and magnitude information from a short speech sample. This is similar to how phase vocoders work to make guitars speak, or speech sing. But unlike a phase vocoder, the number of taps used in these resyntheses range from 512 to 32,768.
