Polaroid, 1978-80
SX-70 Polaroids, one of a kind

SX-70 images were created as quick sketch studies for large format staged studio compositions realized between 1978 to 1983. They functioned as a form of "warm up" exercises for producing the large format hand-tined series titled "Still Lives".

The casual nature of the medium, its lower resolution but colorful, contrasty materiality allowed for "lo tech" aesthetic experimentations, a form of quick sketch narratives, that allowed one to create images that otherwise would not have been thought of due to the complexity of staging objects, lighting, and followed by development.
