Course Description
  The Conceptual Art of Photoshop

A project based art studio course focused on 2D image processing as an experimental tool and a creative medium. Photography is an invention that mixes both arts and science. The course will examine Photoshop from both artistic and scientific perspectives with an introduction to its basis in signal processing, compression, scaling, convolutions, etc. all of which can be applied as creative techniques. The course also involves a historical perspective reaching back to various movements that explored the medium as a tool for innovation.
