We have had luck with MacPorts, but you are welcome to use Fink or Homebrew as well.
Installing the Starter Code
- fieldViewer - the main code we will be using

[Snow Leopard] [Lion] [Mavericks] - fieldViewerStripped - a stripped version of fieldViewer with no image IO or movie support. This is made available for build debugging purposes only.

Unsupported Versions
Past students have contributed code for other workflows. We do not officially support them, but provide them here in case you find them useful. Joseph Tilbian put together a version of fieldViewer that runs on Ubuntu 11.04. You can get it here.If you need an Xcode project, here are ports that students put together last year.
If you are building from XCode and not the command line, I strongly recommend installed a "command line here" utility such as ShellHere. Otherwise when you read and write files, you may have no idea where XCode is putting things.
